Dancing and celebrating… the reception.

Now that you’re officially married, now cones the time to celebrate! The reception is a big part of the day and a very good way to incorporate your colors into the party. So here are some photos I have chosen to take my.inspiration from.

These lanterns from Oriental trading company are very cheap and can bring in a lot of color to your party. Of course I will be getting black and white ones to hang from the ceiling for my reception along with balloons.

Now I wont have as many balloons as this, but you can take a few balloons and insert a marble into them before you blow them up so they will hang down. I will have silver clear and white balloons long with my black and white lanterns. And I may hang some string lights above them to add more light depending on where I have the reception. (Still looking as my plans have recently changed.)

I love this picture. Except to replace the red with white. The centerpeices can be made from a tall wide bade and some crystals hanging from a price of colored cardboard or wood sitting on top of the vase then have a flower bouquet sitting on top. Have some little candles covered in lace sitting around it (see picture below)

image

And inside the vase even have a frosted bottle with the table number inside so your guests know which table to go to.

These damask lampshades can be made from purchasing a damask vellum paper and cutting out the shade from a template found online. Just put them together with some double sided tape. Get some cheap wine glasses, add a candle or a flameless candle and pop it on top. A nice way to add more light to the tables.

Get some plain wooden letters from hobby lobby or micheals and paint them in any color to match and set them on your wedding party table. Add some Bling or sparkle to them. Paint splatter them. Make them unique to your colors and theme.

These lanterns can be made from a balloon, thin yarn found in the craft section usually used to crochet doilies and some modgepodge. Just unwrap the string and put it in a large bowl with the modgeppdge glue. Take the end and wrap around the balloon. Let it dry and pop the balloon. Pull it out and there you have it. Put it alone on the table or put a flower on it like this one. You can Aldo spray paint them or add glitter while its wet on the balloon.

These small picture frames can be.used for place cards or for favors. For place cards, write or print out the persons name and insert into the frame. Set it at their setting on their table and Viola! Or you can insert a wallet size black and white engagement photo of yourselves and set one at each persons setting at their table.

The card box I had posted on the check list entry is what I want my card box to look like but I like this style better. So I figured I would do one that looks like this in construction but the colors and accents in the other. Card boxes are fun easy and a lot cheaper to male than buying one that you will either throw away or sell at a yard sale.

A great addition is a candy bar. No not individual Snickers bars. But a table with candies in jars with coordinating colors.
